Rainbow Bridge
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Our Beloved Animals that have gone off to Rainbow Bridge.
BILLY (October 1999 - April 2006)
Billy was our "First Child" he taught us how to form a united front. Billy was a very loving dog and very much part of our family.
When we moved to the farm Billy took it in stride, became the king of gopher hunting. He loved his freedom and I know he will be enjoying his time at rainbow bridge.
MAGGIE (Passed Away Spring 2009)
You will always be in our hearts Maggie.
We rescued Maggie from a farm that no longer wanted her. She was our first experience with the Katahdin sheep and she helped convince us this was the breed we wanted to get into. She is extremely friendly and raises wonderful lambs. Last year she raised us triplets all on her own.
I got an email this spring from a lady that originally raised Maggie, I guess she was a bottle lamb (which explains why she is so friendly) and her mom's name was Maggie, therefore the name on her tag. She was also a triplet.
Harold March 2003 - Feb 2010
"HAROLD" Will be greatly missed. He took care of the place and did his best to ensure all the livestock were protected. Harold unlike most GPD would take pursut of the preditors that come near our home. Harold had taken care of skunks, coyotes, foxes and probably more animals we don't even see.
We will miss you big guy, enjoy your time at rainbow bridge.
Leigh (July 2007 - April 2010)
Leigh was our first dog, she taught us a lot about pet ownership and trust. She was a very loyal dog. Leigh was the protector of the kids and loved to hunt with Bill, taught Harold right from wrong and was teaching Max as well. Leigh was all heart, she loved everyone she met.
Leigh had a large green ball we bought her when she was a pup, we lived in the city so she needed something to keep her mind occupied without destroying it. Leigh played with that ball, like a soccer ball, using her nose and feet to bring it long distances back to you so you could toss it again.
We will always have you in our hearts Leigh, we will remember the great times we had. Enjoy your time at Rainbow Bridge, I know you will be happy to see Billy and Harold there.
Yolker 2007-2009
Yolker was our pet turkey, he was raised here from a baby with his brother. Once they because mature we had to sell his brother so they were not fighting. Yolker was our welcoming committee, whenever someone would come to the farm he would strutt his stuff all the way down the hill and show off for everyone. He liked to be pet and Amy liked to snuggle him.
Yolker was a Broad Breasted Bronze, so we knew his life was not going to be long, but we enjoyed our time with him.

Kole ?-2012
We purchased Kole last year from a friend of ours. She had a wonderful personality and although she didn't live here long she holds a special place in our hearts. Kole gave us triplets this year, we lost little Bobbi at 36 hours old, she was just too weak. The boys Bruce and Ben had moved on to be our bottle babies and the girls are enjoying them. We lost Kole 2 weeks after she delivered her triplets, the vet figured a tear during the birthing, and although we did our best to get her back on her feet she was just too weak to go on.
We will miss you Kole, the girls will take good care of your boys.

Rosie the turkey 2008-2012
Rosie was our first baby out of Yolker and Bubbles. She was hand raised as a single by Amy so she was quite spoiled. We raised her in a brooder in the basement and I still remember her flying out of the brooder and standing at the bottom of the stairs calling for Amy, that is when we decided she needed some chicken friends and moved her out to the brooder with some chicks. Rosie loved to snuggle with Amy, and thought it was fun to fluff up and follow Taylor around to scare her. But she wouldnt harm her.
Rosie will be greatly missed.
